“Nandini” is derived from the Sanskrit verbal root ‘Nand’ meaning “To Rejoice, Delight” Literally NANDINI means a someone who brings joy. Nandini Villa get’s it’s name from it’s visionary founder entrepreneur Ms. Nandini Thapa. Nandini Villa is an amalgamation of joy, beauty, creativity, and LOVE. This boutique villa/hotel has been curated by Ms. Nandini Thapa and her decorated Husband Late Lt. Col. Deepak Thapa (Yudh Seva Medal Awardee, Indian Army, Government of India). Nandini Villa is your home away from home in the “Heaven on Earth” – Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, India. As Late Lt. Col. Deepak Thapa and Mrs. Nandini Thapa traversed through various places and cultures across the length and breadth of beautiful India and Bharat; the couple brought back with them a piece of the local culture, art, artistry in some form or the other. Stepping into Nandini Villa, one gets to see the heart, passion and creativity put together with care and collections from all over India to design every nook and corner of the property, nestled in the laps of Himalayas. The view from Nandini Villa offers glimpses of nature at it’s best, be it the majestic mountain ranges, trees, a local natural stream of water (Khad in local language) flowing throughout the year.

Community Building

Nandini Villa takes immense care in contributing to the local community. The guests are encouraged to participate in local events and get a taste of the local culture, customs and traditional events. Nandini Villa and guests have participated in the past in various cleanliness drives as well like the ones organized by Dhauladhar Cleaners and local NGOs. Ms. Nandini Thapa is also a patron and contributes into various social causes and donation drives at local schools and girls’ education and empowerment initiatives.

Arts & Music, Cuisine & Culture

Nandini Villa has been blessed to be frequented by sought after artists – painters, musicians, culinary artists, corporate leaders, classical dancers and singers quiet regularly. Thus Nandini Villa is a melting pot of sorts whereby one would run into various artists and form organic collaborations. One finds musicians, artists and singers engage in impromptu magical and musical jams and sessions. Books are available to the avid readers. Ample space for those who just want to sun bath, practice their yoga routines or break a sweat in the gym.
